How To Connect Project Central To Your Office 365 Account?

By Brian McHale
In order to access your Office 365 files through Project Central, you must first authorize the connection of your Office 365 Document Library.

There are two methods of setting up this connection:

  • Connect Project Central using the site search
  • Connect Project Central through pasting a link.

1. How to connect Project Central using the site search?

Searching a File library is a quick and easy way to connect Project Central to your documents. It is great to use if you know the site that you are looking to connect, or if you need to browse multiple sites before connecting.

To connect Project Central using the site search:

1. Open your chosen project and select the Files tab.

2. The first time you do this, you will be asked to grant permission to Project Central to connect to your Office 365 account in order to access your Project Files. (This ensures compliance with your organizations Office 365 access and security policy).

3. Accept the Permissions requested in order to continue the connection.

4. Click the green Connect File Library button to the top right.

5. Enter the site name into the Search Sites search box.

6. Choose the Site Name you wish to connect and click the green Next button.

7. Choose your Document Library Name and click the green Connect button.

(Note: If you do not have permission to access a File library in your Office 365 work account, then you will not be able to access it in Project Central either).

8. Your Documents appear inside Project Central and can be accessed from here.

2. How to connect Project Central by pasting a URL?

If you cannot find your File library using site search, simple copy the SharePoint Online URL or in Teams and paste it into Project Central. You can find this URL by reading the following help article. Once you have your URL, continue using the following steps:

5. Select Paste Link option.

6. Paste your SharePoint link into the search box and click the green Connect button.

7. Choose your Document Library Name and click the green Connect button.

8. Your Documents appear inside Project Central and can be accessed from here.
